1/2p+1/3=3

hero (hero):

\(\frac{p}{2} + \frac{1}{3} = 3 \)

hero (hero):

1. Re-write 3 as 6/2 : \(\frac{p}{2} + \frac{1}{3} = \frac{6}{2}\)

hero (hero):

Subtract p/2 from both sides to get: \(\frac{1}{3} = \frac{6}{2} - \frac{p}{2}\)

hero (hero):

Combine fractions on the right side to get: \(\frac{1}{3} = \frac{6-p}{2}\)

hero (hero):

Cross multiply to get: 2 = 3(6-p) Distribute to get: 2 = 18 - 3p Add 3p to both sides; subtract 2 from both sides to get: 3p = 18 - 2 3p = 16 Divide both sides by 2 to get: \(p = \frac{16}{3}\)
