Graph of y = – |x + 2| + 3 Someone help me graph it?

OpenStudy (shane_b):

Just plug it into your graphing calculator :)

OpenStudy (nikolas):

Do you know what the graph of y=|x| looks like? Think about what each of those other numbers mean and how they will change the original y=|x| graph.

Here are my choices for graphs.... @Nikolas @Shane_B

OpenStudy (nikolas):

y=-|x+2|+3 is the graph of y=|x| that has been reflected vertically over the x-axis, translated horizontally 2 units left, and translated vertically 3 units up. Can you figure it out from there?

OpenStudy (shane_b):

Well, I guess I should have posted a wider graph :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So would it be my Graph 3???? @Shane_B @Nikolas

OpenStudy (shane_b):

Yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okayyy thanks!

OpenStudy (shane_b):

I'm too lazy to do it by hand when graphing it takes 5 seconds :P @Nikolas provided the details on doing it another way.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Haha i understand but thanks anyways... to the both of you! @Nikolas @Shane_B
