Well I was just seeing if I get the "aw snap" thing if I type a bunch of latex, I didn't...but the latex acted screwy with the radical in this screenshot:

The aw snap still seems mostly random to me. Sometimes I type a lot of latex without issues, and other times it has lots of issues. However, I've seen those issues with radical signs before. In-line latex also doesn't seem to align itself with the rest of the line properly.

i have weird aw snaps wherein a page of OS crashes along with a 3rd party tab....but my other OS tabs dont crash :/

You can't just type a bunch of latex. It doesn't work that way. You have to type a bunch of latex and a bunch of regular text. Like at least 7-11 steps worth of mixed text.
