why is using the qudratic form easier than factoring when solving a quadratic equation?

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

because factoring is like a fish in an ocean. there are many possibilities. you do not know where you should go or which path you should take. you are doing things blindly and randomly. Oftentimes, factoring also leads to dead ends. on the other hand, quadratic river is like a fish in the river. you can just follow the current wherever it takes you. you are just substituting values into the formula so you know you're getting somewhere. Also, there is a guaranteed answer in quadratic formula. no matter what value, the Q.F. can give it, if you did the process right. does that help?

@Lynn1821 you there?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah thanx the actually makes sense

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

^_^

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so if you know a,b,and c you can use the formula

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

yup

OpenStudy (anonymous):

cool beans :)
