Explain, in complete sentences, how you would use the substitution method to solve the following system of equations. Part 2: Provide the solution to the system. x + 5y = 3 2x + 9y = 4

Can you maybe help with this one? @Ganpat

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I know part 2... I only need part 1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How would i use the sub method... idk how to explain it in complete sentences

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

rewrite the 1st equation so that x = 3 - 5y then substitute into the 2nd equation 2(3 - 5y) + 9y = 4 solve for y.. when you have y substitute that value into either equation to find x
