Rightio: a. The author of this sentence meant that the computer and rather, means of generating information have changed the way research is conducted; therefore, we need to use 'they', to refer to the plural computers and not the singular amount of information. 'It' is incorrect. b. 'is' is incorrect; it should be 'has'. This option just doesn't make sense, but only by a little bit since 'is' and 'has' sound similar. The SAT is trying to catch students who are rushing. c. 'is' is again, incorrect - The sentence is set in the past tense, so use of the present tense doesn't make sense. d. 'they' is used correctly and it's in the right tense. This option is viable. e. 'they have been changed the way .. ' doesn't make sense. Particularly, 'been' is unnecessary. .
