CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

please?

OpenStudy (ganpat):

what is width ??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3.5 inches

OpenStudy (ganpat):

surface area = area of the surface .. so over here surface is the walking surface ... = (8 * 3) * 9.. i.e. surface of each brick * number of bricks...

OpenStudy (ganpat):

(8 * 3) * 9 = 216 sq inch...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So would 216 sq inch be the awnser ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that's not the correct awnser .

OpenStudy (ganpat):

width is 3 inch or 3.5 ??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3.5

OpenStudy (ganpat):

ohkey.. so use same formula and replace 3 by 3.5.. (8 * 3.5) * 9

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got 252

OpenStudy (ganpat):

yup.. thats the answer..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That's not one of the choises though.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A. 84 sq in B. 677 sq in C. 741 sq in D. 756 sq in

OpenStudy (ganpat):

oh... i missed the side , i guess.. let me try again..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay. The awnser i got is 125 but thats not one of the choices.

OpenStudy (ganpat):

ohkey 741 is the answer.. let me show u...

OpenStudy (ganpat):

Surface area = [ upper surface + 2 * side surface + bottom surface ] * 9 + front & back surface.. A = [ (8 * 3.5) + 2 * (3 * 3.5) + (8 * 3.5) ] * 9 + 2 * (8 * 3 )... that will give u 741..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you so much (:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

u also must subtract because of the interior face
