CAN SOMEONE HELP ME PLEASE? Mr. Rasmussen laid 9 bricks in a row to make a walking path through his garden. If each brick has a length of 8 inches, a width of inches, and a height of 3 inches, what is the surface area of the walkway?
CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME ?
please?
what is width ??
3.5 inches
surface area = area of the surface .. so over here surface is the walking surface ... = (8 * 3) * 9.. i.e. surface of each brick * number of bricks...
(8 * 3) * 9 = 216 sq inch...
So would 216 sq inch be the awnser ?
that's not the correct awnser .
width is 3 inch or 3.5 ??
3.5
ohkey.. so use same formula and replace 3 by 3.5.. (8 * 3.5) * 9
i got 252
yup.. thats the answer..
That's not one of the choises though.
A. 84 sq in B. 677 sq in C. 741 sq in D. 756 sq in
oh... i missed the side , i guess.. let me try again..
Okay. The awnser i got is 125 but thats not one of the choices.
ohkey 741 is the answer.. let me show u...
Surface area = [ upper surface + 2 * side surface + bottom surface ] * 9 + front & back surface.. A = [ (8 * 3.5) + 2 * (3 * 3.5) + (8 * 3.5) ] * 9 + 2 * (8 * 3 )... that will give u 741..
Thank you so much (:
u also must subtract because of the interior face
