Which phrase is correct - " I had spoken" or "I have spoken"?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I guess they might both be correct, but can you explain in which situation I would use either one?

OpenStudy (wach):

They're both technically correct, but the tense is different for each: 'had spoken' - Past tense; you would say this long after you had done the speaking. 'have spoken' - Past tense, but different in that it's more immediate past. You have 'just' spoken.
