Okay Ive never seen this in my entire life can someone explain.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Find the area of one of the outer triangles and multiply that by the number of outer triangles.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You do then find the area of the figure inside and add it to the area of the triangles.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the triangles would be 3*4*6=72 ... right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\frac{1}{2}*h*b=\triangle\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oops right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

h=3 b=4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so 36

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then you multiply that by 6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't know how to solve the inside shape. Anyone care to help out?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

apothem is height of triangles that make up the inner shape

OpenStudy (amistre64):

6(apothem*base/2)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

which is 3.46 (apothem)

OpenStudy (amistre64):

stick with 2sqrt(3) since thats what the answers use as well

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so would the would the formula to find the inside figure be.. 6(2√3*4/2)

OpenStudy (amistre64):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay then once I find that i times that number and 36 (from the outside triangle) to get the answer?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

you need to add, not times

OpenStudy (amistre64):

but yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Good job everyone! brohoofs for everyone "brohoof"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol whats a "brohoof"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

XD

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh haha alrightyy then
