a real life scenario where inequalities are used and state the inequality.

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

Let's say that gas costs $3 a gallon. You want to fill your car with some unknown amount of gas. So let x = number of gallons to put into your car. So if you put x gallons into your car at $3 a gallon, then it will cost you 3x dollars for gas alone. Now say you have to buy an item that is worth $5. This means your total cost becomes 3x+5 Let's say you want to stay on budget and not go over $20. So you can spend $20 or less, which means \[\Large \text{Cost} \ \le 20\] \[\Large 3x+5 \le 20\]
