So if you put x gallons into your car at $3 a gallon, then it will cost you 3x dollars for gas alone.


Now say you have to buy an item that is worth $5. This means your total cost becomes 3x+5


Let's say you want to stay on budget and not go over $20. So you can spend $20 or less, which means
