All of the following are true of lead as an environmental hazard except? a. Paint in toys is an important potential source of lead exposure. b. The higher the blood lead levels the more severe the biological effects due to lead poisoning. c. Paint in homes is no longer a source of lead exposure since lead is no longer allowed in paint. d. Exposure to lead may come from food, water and air.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What do you think? Common since! ;)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

b?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

might also want to google it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you explain why though because at first I thought it was C

OpenStudy (anonymous):

once you explain, I'll give you the medal

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay, well one of the largest threats to children is lead paint that exists in many homes. So therefore C would be true. Paint may also be found on older toys, furniture and playground equipment. So A would be false. Because it says it is found in older toy. Well most children have new toys now. So that would be false. Hemolysis (the rupture of red blood cells) due to acute poisoning can cause anemia to children, generally producing more severe poisoning than occurs from dust. So B would be true. Lead may get into foods or liquids that have been stored in ceramics, pottery, china, etc... So D would be true. Does that make sense?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes but I dodn't say new toys, it just said toys in general and right now most toys still contain lead

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well the answer IS NOT "Paint in toys is...lead exposure" Just did the quiz and got it wrong so that's how I know.
