Question

Let S be the solid whose base is the triangle with vertices (0,0), (3,0) and (0,2). Cross-sections of S perpendicular to the y-axis are isoceles triangles with height equal to the base. Find the volume of S.

My only question is: when you are taking the cross-section, how do you know what side you are cutting at?
a) the side of the triangle
b) the height of the triangle
c) the base of the triangle
