Figure ABCD is a rectangle. The length of segment AE is (4x – 3) units and the length of segment EC is (x + 3) units. What is the length of diagonal BD?
The diagonals of a rectangle are always congruent. So, AE=EC and they gave the length of each one: AE= 2x+1 and EC=x+7 Now just substitute and solve: AE=EC 2x+1=x+7 2x-x=7-1 x=6 If half of the diagonal is 6 what should the other half be? 6 6+6=12 => BD=12
@r3dispimp are you there? Do you understand now?
yes a little bit
Okay, good luck!
but 12 isnt an answer choice
Oh, I might have calculated this wrong, ehh I don't want to confuse you any further, sorry... lol
haha its okay thanks for trying to help me out
Oh! Sorry, the length of one of them is 13 so: 13+13=26 6 is for x, they don't want x.
26 is the answer right?
I think that is correct...
no lol
WHAT
its 10
Hmmm....
because if you put in a 2 for x you get 10
thats when you add both sides
OH!! That's right lmao Okay Sooo sorry!!! X3
its okay thanks for trying:)
