OpenStudy (anonymous):

If you plot the distance a train travels as a function of time and get a straight line, you can then find the slope of that line. The slope of that line is the _________ of the train.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The slope gives the velocity of the train.

OpenStudy (ghazi):

slope of line tells you the rate of change of distance with time ..which we call as speed..and slope of displacement and time gives you velocity

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the graph will look like the one i attached. so slope gives u \[\frac{x _{2}-x _{1}} {t_{2}-t _{1}}\] = \[\frac{dx}{dt}\] where dx -> change in position (or the y-co-ordinate) and dt -> change in time (or the x-co-ordinate) seem familiar?
