Parth (parthkohli):

What's the difference between \(f(x)\) and \(p(x)\)? I have a guess: \(f(x)\) denotes a function, whereas \(p(x)\) denotes a polynomial(it denotes a function too, sometimes.)

Parth (parthkohli):

We tend to use \(p(x)\) for a function when \(f(x)\) is already defined, right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

u can denote functions and polynomials with anything u want...

Parth (parthkohli):

Yes :) I know that, but the thing is that we tend to use \(f(x)\) more often right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah thats right

Parth (parthkohli):

Thank you!
