I'm just starting 6.00 I want to write some python code, but the MacPython 2.5 distro is missing the text editor. The OCW page says "It [the Python distro] also has a file editor that lets you create and edit existing Python source files." What is the name of the editor and where can I download it?

OpenStudy (vaboro):

Open IDLE, then go to File menu, click on 'New Window', enter some code, then open File menu again, click "Save", "Save As" or "Save as a Copy". P.S. As another option you may consider BBEdit if your're on a Mac.
