It lends strength to the argument if evidence from a diversity of fields results in the same conclusion. 

Asking scientists from a variety of fields to test the ideas means more scientists will take an interest in promoting the theory. 

If a theory can encompass many different fields of study, then financial funding for future testing of the theory would be easier to attain. 

It is unlikely that scientists will disagree with evidence collected within their own fields, so everyone would find something to agree with.

The first option is the best; that's basically how scientific theories become accepted and more like 'laws', once the theory is tested and approved from different fields. 

The others options have to do with interest, funding, (nice but not essential) and superficial agreements. Not so necessary, no? :)
