If you remember this much, you'll cruise through organic chemistry :) The prefixes: 1 - meth 2-eth 3-prop 4-but 5-pent 6-hex 7-hept 8-oct 9-non 10-dec and for the bonds its: 1 bond - alkane 2 bonds: alkene 3 bonds alkyne :) Can you match up the prefixes and tell me what you get so i know you understand? :) also, yea as i said before in reply to your final question: alkane have carbon carbon single bonds and alkene have carbon carbon double bonds. good luck!
