First of all, the trip will take more than two days.  What your problem says can be written like this if the total time = t
$$ t = 7 + \frac{3}{4}$$
$$\frac{1}{3} t = ?$$

Sorry, the first line was a joke, but I failed to explain it.  Portland and Boston are separated by more than 3000 miles.

Actually distance does not matter at all. We are only talking about time here.
