The two triangles shown below are congruent. What is the value of x? 1 2 3 4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

see sides CA is equal to side OM and side AB is equal to MN so CA/OM=AB/MN then you cross multiply you get that @LaurenAshley1201 ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

since the triangles are congruent all the sides and angles of the first triangle are equal to all the sides and angles of the second triangle. therefore, 2x+2=x+3 getting x on the L.H.S 2x-x=3-2 x=1

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

when two figures are congruent, that means they are the exact same shape and their measures are equal. so we just equate the corresponding sides

@Derp_Derpington has it !!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

exactly you need to equate the corresponding sides

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Why did u tell it so early @Farheen28

OpenStudy (anonymous):

tell what?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

U know @Farheen28

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no i don't :@
