so CA/OM=AB/MN
then you cross multiply

since the triangles are congruent all the sides and angles of the first triangle are equal to all the sides and angles of the second triangle.
therefore,
2x+2=x+3
getting x on the L.H.S
2x-x=3-2
x=1

when two figures are congruent, that means they are the exact same shape and their measures are equal.
so we just equate the corresponding sides
