The equation of a circle is shown below. (x + 7)2 + (y + 1)2 = 36 Lee uses the following steps to sketch a graph of the circle. 1. Obtain the center (-7, -1) and radius 6. 2. Write the equation in the form (x - (-7))2 + (y – (-1)2) = 62. 3. Mark the point (-7, -1) on the coordinate axis. 4. Draw a circle through the plot points (-1, -1), (-13, -1), (-7, 5), and (-7, -7). 5. Calculate and plot the points around the center using given radius 6. What is the correct order of steps to sketch the circle? Answer Options: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 3, 4, 1, 2, 5 4, 2, 5, 1, 3 2,

OpenStudy (jsramos08):

2, 1, 3, 5, 4 is the last option.

OpenStudy (phi):

you should use ^ to show exponents because 62 is very confusing (in 2.) I would start crossing out options. If you were sketching a circle, what is the last step (thinking common sense here)

OpenStudy (jsramos08):

4, I'm pretty sure @phi

OpenStudy (phi):

yes, that's what I am thinking, because after you have drawn the circle you are done! so which options make no sense as the last step? and for the option that ends in 4, does it make sense to do the steps in order that they give? If so, that is the answer.

OpenStudy (jsramos08):

Thank you! @phi
