I am starting pre ap chemistry this year and i am looking for the basics so it doesn't hit all of a sudden so what are the basics of chemistry?

Ahh, well another couple tips might be to understand what charge is and how it works. For instance, how the elements tend to have a noble gas configuration of their electrons and how that gives them charge by losing and gaining electrons.

You're going to learn how to balance equations and things like that, but it's not that bad really if you study. Just keep coming here when your class starts and ask questions when you have them and everything will be explained if you have trouble. =)

And sign up for the AP Chem or Prep for AP Chem courses. It's an online assessment and tutoring service. Covers the basics very thoroughly. The gen chem versions are required by some major US universities in their gen chem classes, so it's aligned to what you'd get in college chem.
