Help with Algebra 1 h.w??? PLZZZ HELP!!!!? 1.) A solution to the compound inequality 8 > 5 - 3x > -13 is provided below. Choose the statement that is true about the given solution. 8 > 5 - 3x and 5 - 3x > -13 Line 1 3 > -3x and -3x > -18 Line 2 -1< x and x < 6 Line 3 There is a mistake in line # 1. There is a mistake in line # 2. There is a mistake in line # 3. There are no mistakes, the solution is correct. 2.) In Lake Mille Lax, a walleye (type of freshwater fish) must be less than or equal to 20 inches or longer than or equal to 28 inches for the fish to be considered a keeper. Choose the combined inequality that describes this scenario. 20 x 26 x 28 x 20 or x 28 none of the above none of the above 3.) Solve -3x + 1 > 4 and describe the graph of the solution. x < -1; Open circle on -1, shading to the left x < -1; Open circle on -1, shading to the right x > -1; Open circle on -1, shading to the left x > -1; Open circle on -1, shading to the right 4.) Solve: 5(x + 6) 3x - 4 x -17 x 17 x -17 x -5 -2y - 7 > 11 5.) Part 1: Solve the inequality above. Part 2: Describe the graph of the solution. 16 < 3x + 1 < 4 6.) Part 1: Solve the inequality above. Part 2: Describe the graph of the solution. Plzzz help thnx sooo much!!!

Select the inequality that corresponds to the given graph. http://learn.flvs.net/webdav/assessment_images/educator_algebra1_v10/05_03_01a.jpg 3x - 7 < 11 -4x > 24 -2x + 7 13 3(x - 2) - 3 x - 5

Please help I have taken this test online 3 times and still havent passed it and the lessons online dont help me... Please show your work if possible so I know what to do next time? :\ thanks

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Wow, that's a lot in one shot. Did you miss everything listed?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes it's 50 questions and these are the ones i dont get.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't see a mistake in number one... do you?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I wasnt sure about line 2... but i dont know...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It looks good to me, so I would say... no mistakes, solution correct.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks!! :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't see inequality signs in number 2... are they supposed to be there or is that exactly what you see on the test?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hmm... it should be: A;<= and <= b;<= c;<= and >= d;none of the above these go in the blanks sorry about that :|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Basically the situation described is where fish of a certain size are making baby fish. They don't want you to kill those, you can go smaller or bigger. x<=20 or x>=28. There is one answer that looks a little like this form, but the signs are missing.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ohh Thanks so much! That makes sense now! :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-3x+1>4 subtract 1 from both sides -3x>3 divide both sides by -3, dividing by negative flips the sign x<-1 open circle because of < without equal sign shade to the left because all x's are smaller than one, all smaller numbers are to the left

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay... I think I get that now Thanks so much for doing this :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is there a sign missing from number 4 between 5(x+6) and 3x-4 ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hmm there should be a <= sign between 5(x+6) and 3x-4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry about that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No problem, this editorhas a limited font. Cutting and pasting can cause real problems if there are special characters like less than or equal to.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah I see that now haha :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

5(x+6) <=3x-4 distribute 5x+30<=3x-4 subtract 3x from both sides 2x+30<=-4 subtract 30 from both sides 2x<=-34 divide both sides by 2 x<=-17

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay thanks so much!! :) you are a life saver!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No problem, this is fun. -2y-7>11 add 7 to both sides -2y>18 divide both sides by -2, flip sign y<-9 open circle at 9, shade to the left

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh, I forgot to flip the sign :) It makes sense now! :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, when you multiply or divide by a negative.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah I think that was part of my problem on some of them :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

16<3x+1<4 you don't have to split, but a previous problem did 16<3x+1 and 3x+1<4 subtract one from all sides 15<3x and 3x<3 divide by 3 on all sides 5<x and x<1 I see this as x is between 1 and 5... only works when signs are pointing in same direction... opposite directions usually means shade outside and leave a gap in the middle. open dot at 1 and open dot at 5, shade between

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you, really :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no problem, sorry that I was checking that guys joke and not helping.... hasta!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Haha you're fine :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

But thanks so much for helping me!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh yeah, there was that graph of x<6 3x-7<11 3x<18 x<6 yeah, that one

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh I forgot about that one but thanks!
