Which of the following is a polynomial with roots –2, –2, and 2 ? x3 – 4x2 + 4x – 16 x3 + 4x2 + 4x + 16 x3 + 2x2 + 4x + 8 x3 – 2x2 + 4x – 8

somebodyyy helpppppp!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

which one can be written as (x+2)(x+2)(x-2)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

idkkk ? im horrible in mathhh! ): and im just trying to pass this test so that i can graduate next year!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

are you sure that the last one is +4x not -4x?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nope they are all +4x

OpenStudy (swissgirl):

Well I would suggest is trying to factor each option which can be super annoying. So maybe lets try to factor the the first and the third option

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hmm,its none of the above

OpenStudy (swissgirl):

but it has to be. let me solve one

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay thanks so much

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is it the last one?

OpenStudy (swissgirl):

Well not really. Its none of them

OpenStudy (swissgirl):

Now i first plugged in all the

OpenStudy (swissgirl):

the 2 and -2 into each equation and there wasnt one equation that for both values it turned out to be 0, So then I graphed the equations and none of them touched the x axis at both 2 and -2 It was either one or the other

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay thanks i got that question right!

OpenStudy (swissgirl):

That is quite weird lol
