I can't decide which of these methods are correct when finding the product of (x + 2)^2: (x + 2)^2, x^2 + 4^2, x^2 + 4. Or: (x + 2)^2, (x + 2) (x + 2), x^2 + 4x + 4. Could someone help?

OpenStudy (ghazi):

the second one (x+2)(x+2)

OpenStudy (ghazi):

remember (a+b)^2= (a+b)*(a+b)....then use distributive law....which will give you a*a+a*b+b*a+b*b

Alright thank you! I forgot about the distributive law.
