Help PLZZZZZ!!!!! Contrast the Articles of Confederation and the Constitution in terms of liberty and power. Was the Constitution a fulfillment of the Revolution or a reaction to its excesses?
the articles of the confederated states of America wanted to keep most of what was in the consitiution except one thing they wanted to keeps their slaves. The consitution was a fulfilment of the revoultion becacasue it gave us freedom from being out from under british rule
The Constitution was a fulfillment of the Revolution. To the extent it was crafted with any reference to the Revolution, it attempted to prevent the disunity and flaccidity of the central government in a time of crisis. Read the Preamble, and notice how it's phrased: "We the People, in order to form a more perfect union..." The key there is that they felt the union achieved thus far under the Articles and the wartime government could use some tweaking. Madison, the person who most wrote the Constitution, was exquisitely sensitive to this, as he had at times run the Continental Congress' oversight of the Revolution single-handedly, and he was painfully aware of where strong central authority was useful, but also, as a dyed in the wool republican, very wary of awarding more power to it than was absolutely necessary.
