Which number is not in scientific notation? A. 1.10 x 10 to the 3rd power B. 4.0 x 10 to the 16th power c. 7.03 x 10 - to the 2cd power d. 350 x 10 to the 2cd power

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is it C ?

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

scientific notation is N.NN.. * 10*n

OpenStudy (anonymous):

D because the first number isn't a decimal.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you (:

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

the first number must be 1 <= n < 10

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh it is D! I didn't even notice it didn't have a decimal. good eye! I guess I just assumed :)

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

- its not that it hasn't got a decimal - its not scientific form because 350 is outside the range 1 to 10
