Write the slope of the line for the graph below.

OpenStudy (wach):

If the line goes straight up and down, what do you think the slope is?

OpenStudy (wach):

Think about how x is constantly -2, though the value of y changes.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

8,-2 0,-2 -8,-2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x=-2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

slope is rise/run... so basically it is the number of squares it goes up over the number of squares it goes to the right.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the line goes up 1 and right 0 so the slope would be 1/0 but you cannot divide by 0 and therefore the slope is considered undefined

OpenStudy (anonymous):

slope=undefined

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got the numbers 8,-2 0,-2 -8,-2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes, as you can see the y value never changes (x,y), the 8, 0, and -8 are all x values, the -2 is the y value.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok i understand now

OpenStudy (anonymous):

use the slope formula if it helps
