x | y ---- 1 | 1 2 | 3 3 | 7 4 | 15 5 | 31 6 | 63 7 | 127 Write an equation that relates x and y. Use your equation to find the value of y when x = 15. I know the answer is y = 2^x - 1 but how to I get to this point? What are the steps to determine this? There must be some sort of process that would help me explain this to my teenager right?
