I'm writing a paper about "The Freedom Writers Diary"... I want the title to be -- The Freedom Writers Diary, Erin Gruwell Can I do this or do I need some thought provoking title? Also, my first paragraph is excerpts from the book.. Do I site each excerpt at the end of it with a page number?
You can have a more creative title if you really would like one. It's not super necessary, but might be more interesting. :) As for the excerpts, you'll want to cite with the author's last name and the page number or numbers in some parentheses. If the quote ends in a period, the period will go after the parentheses, and if it ends in an exclamation point or question mark, a period will go after the parentheses. For example, if ends like .. : .. his father was a postman!" (Lee 45). vs .. his father was a postman" (Lee 45). Does that sort of make sense? I know it's confusing. ><
Thank you! I do understand. It has been a long summer so I don't remember much. I swear I'm really good at citations when I try..:)
Sure, glad to be of help. :)
