As a fundraiser, a school club is selling posters. The printer charges a $15 set-up fee, plus $0.50 for each poster. Then the cost y in dollars to print x posters is given by the linear equation y=0.50x+15. (a) What is the cost y in dollars to print 50 posters? Print 100 posters? The printing of 50 posters costs $40. I found this out by plugging 50 into the equation y=0.50(50)+15. The printing of 100 posters costs $65. I found this out doing the same thing by plugging in 100 to the equation y=0.50(100)+15. (b) Find the number of posters x if the printer billed the club for costs of $110.00. The number of posters, printed for $110.00, is: _________ (c) Write the information from parts (a) and (b) as three ordered pairs. The first pair from (a) is: The second pair from (a) is: The pair from (b) is: (d) Use the data from part (c) to graph the equation.
