Which equation would you use to solve the following word problem? Sasha's mom decided to get her a cell phone for her birthday. Cell Plus has a plan that costs $24.95 per month plus an additional $0.06 per minute. Cell Best has a plan that costs $30.95 per month plus an additional $0.05 per minute. How many minutes can Sasha talk and have the same cost each month? 24.95 + 0.06m = 30.95 + 0.05m 0.11m = 6.00 24.95 + 0.06m = 31.00 30.95 + 0.05m = 25.01 AGAIN WITH STUPID WORD PROBLEMS.. -_-
Can someone help me with this..please...anyone.
24.95 + 0.06m = 30.95 + 0.05m
yes that is the answer
for the cost to be equal to one another then the two plans must be set equal to one another then solved for the variable(s)
Thanks @swissgirl & @alexwee123 :) i have a couple more questions too
The graph of a system of equations will intersect at exactly 2 points. < is that always true? sometimes true? or never true?
Well in most cases its usually linear so it will only intersect at one point or it wont intersect at all
so sometimes true??
ok lets go with sometimes true
well it really depends if its linear or not
|dw:1344903665702:dw| If its linear it can only intersect at max one point
|dw:1344903701293:dw| but then again if its not linear then it can sometimes
