True or false? Probabilities may not be added when events are independent.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

this question unfortunately makes no sense probabilities are numbers, and you can always add numbers i think it must be asking something else

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Therefore making it false if it doesn't make sense, eh?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

perhaps it refers to \(P(A\cup B)=P(A)+P(B)-P(A\cap B)\) which is true irrespective of whether A and B are dependent or independent

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i should be quiet because the problem makes no sense to me

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Don't worry about it. You've cleared up a few things for me for this problem. Thank you. :)
