I've qualified for AIME through AMC12 since 9th grade. The best way to prepare for the AMC is to take past AMCs. AoPsWiki has all the resources: http://www.artofproblemsolving.com/Wiki/index.php/AMC_12 . Generally, the same type of problems appear on AMCs every year. Best luck :)
