Determine the type of boundary line and shading for the graph of the inequality -3x + y > 6. Dashed line with shading on the side that includes the origin. Solid line with shading on the side that does not include the origin. Dashed line with shading on the side that does not include the origin. Solid line with shading on the side that includes the origin.

OpenStudy (precal):

no equal sign means dashed line that means the line is not a solution

Thank you! (:

OpenStudy (precal):

test (0,0) to see if that is the solution x=0 y=0 if true (0,0) is in the region if false (0,0) is not in the region

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Isolate the y on one side of the equation to solve. Remember when dividing by negative remember to switch the signs. Then what @precal said to figure out your answer:)

Thank you! You were the biggest help of the day! So the answer is "C", correct?

OpenStudy (precal):

actually no need to graph at all just sub x=0 and y=0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks @jazy & @precal! You guys were a HUGE help! Appreciate it! :)
