Which wave characteristic has the unit hertz?

OpenStudy (kainui):

Hertz is the same thing as an inverse second, s^-1 or 1/s. So for clarity: \[Hz=s^{-1}=1/s\] What's that mean? It means some event per second. In the case of a wave, how many times is it oscillating (waving) per second? So a wave with 60Hz is waving up and down 60 times per second.
