What are the vertices of the hyperbola given by the equation y2 – 9x2 + 22y – 72x – 32 = 0? (-3, -11) and (-5, -11) (-1, -11) and (-7, -11) (-4, -8) and (-4, -14) (-4, -10) and (-4, -12)

hero (hero):

Could you not just test the points by substituting them in?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what do u mean?

hero (hero):

I mean take (x,y) = (-3,-11) and directly substitute x = -3 , y = -11 into the equation and see if you get zero. If you do, then that's one of the points. You'll also have to test (-5,-11) to make sure both points work. Don't tell me you've never substituted points into equations.

hero (hero):

Still stumped?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got the answer

hero (hero):
