Consider what females get as opposed to males. If you have a recessive trait on an X chromosome, where would you find the analog to a dominant trait?
Kainui's logic is right on the money.
Because females have two x chromosomes and males only have one. A woman is much more likely for that recessive trait to be hidden by a dominant one while a man doesn't get that opportunity because x and y chromosomes carry different genes.
