|dw:1345012258915:dw| I am not very sure about what the variable resistor does in this circuit, here is my guessing: When the current from the fixed resistor flow through the transistor, the current split, 1 to the battery and another one back to the base of the NPN. The variable resistor is set with higher resistance to increase the voltage to force all the holes in P to be cancel out by the electrons in the N part?
