OpenStudy (moongazer):

How do you solve this ? the fastest way possible :)

OpenStudy (moongazer):

38n^2 + 304n - 128 = -2n^2

OpenStudy (moongazer):

Please help :)

hero (hero):

1. Add 2n^2 to both sides first

OpenStudy (moongazer):

please continue :)

OpenStudy (moongazer):

I got 40n^2 + 304n - 128 = 0

hero (hero):

2. Factor out 8

OpenStudy (moongazer):

8(5n^2 + 38n - 32)

hero (hero):

You forgot the equal zero part

OpenStudy (moongazer):

8(5n^2 + 38n - 32) = 0

hero (hero):

3. Divide both sides by 8

OpenStudy (moongazer):

w8 I think I got something wrong

hero (hero):

32 x 8 = 256 That definitely isn't right

hero (hero):

Did you figure out what you did wrong yet?

OpenStudy (moongazer):

it should be 8(5n^2 + 38n - 16) right?

hero (hero):

equal zero :/

hero (hero):

You keep forgetting the equal zero

OpenStudy (moongazer):

ok, I'll just try to solve it. I think I am getting confused because I divided 128 by 8 wrongly :) I'll just ask you if am I stuck with some part :)

OpenStudy (moongazer):

8(5n-2)(n+8)=0 (5n-2)(n+8)=0 n=2/5 , n=-8 Is this correct?

OpenStudy (moongazer):

Thanks! I believe it is correct :)

hero (hero):

It's correct. Good job
