hero (hero):

\(\large\frac{x-3}{5} = -\frac{7}{10}\)

hero (hero):

Is that right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think so but i dont know what x=

hero (hero):

Hint: Cross multiply

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so it would be 35/30?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

would it still be a negative?

terenzreignz (terenzreignz):

Cross Multiply here having the meaning of: Take away the denominator of the right side, multiply it to the numerator on the left; Take away the denominator of the left side, multiply it to the numerator on the right; NOTE You must note the the negative sign on the right side of the equation. If you take the denominator on the right to be -10, the numerator must be without the negative sign.
