What is the perimeter of the following polygon?

hero (hero):

Did you find the area of the previous problem?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea, I submitted it

hero (hero):

You didn't check with me to make sure it was correct.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hint: use pythagorean theorem

OpenStudy (anonymous):

this is my last practice problem

@AstridHatesMath how?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well you know the base is 16 and both halves of it are equal, therefore one side is 8. you also know the height is 15, you now have both legs. So use the a^2+b^2=c^2 form. Doing that you will know the hypotenuse, and, or course, the other hypotenuse, is the same. Now you know both hyponuse's and the base. Add those sides and you have your perimeter! (: Does that make sense?
