More help on y intercepts and substution methods graph the equation y=-x+2 ??

OpenStudy (amistre64):

define 2 points and connect a line between them the "x" term is called independant, it can be whatever value doesnt offend the mathiking overlords the "y" term is called dependant, since its value depends on what value you determine for x

OpenStudy (amistre64):

lets say x=0; (0,-0+2) -> (0,2) lets use x=2; (2,-2+2) -> (2,0)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so if I graphed this it should be 2/0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok what about y= 3x - 8 y=-3x+4 Where do they intersect ?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

a point is defined as an ordered pair (x,y), so to graph it you just follow the directions inside a specific point: (0,2) tells us to move to x=0, then move up to y=2|dw:1345053894010:dw|
