I'm not solving them right for some reason :/ I got -1/2 which is obviously wrong. @ghazi Oh, yes, that's true @Kainui I've just been having a hard time with this specific unit. Step by step instruction is how I learn best and a lot of people on here having been really helpful :) I've completed other problems. These are just ones I've tried but can't seem to get the right answer

typo: you mean
3x-2y= -1

You can treat those i and j units as though they are variables themselves.

(x+2)i+(2y-1)j=xi+2i+2yj+1j
