solve for x algebraically: log3(x-2) - log3(x-10) = -2

I know that I can combine the 2 logs into a fraction --> log3 ((x-2)/(x-10)) = -2
tell to what base is the expression wriiten - is it to base 10 or base 3
or log to base 3?
if its to base 3 then we can write the expression as |dw:1345126976135:dw| then solve for x you will get the answer.
