Is the line with equation x = 4 horizontal or vertical? What is the slope of this line? I know the line is vertical, but how do i find the slope.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the slope is 0 because it's a straight line down

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OH! IT WAS A TRICK lol... I need to be more observant! Thanks!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If it is a horizontal line, it is undefined?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Answer= undefined for verticle

OpenStudy (phi):

x=4 means no matter what y is x=4 so (4,0), (4,1), etc are on the line it is vertical vertical lines have undefined slope because change in y divided by change in x but change in x is 0, and dividing by 0 gives an undefined result

Thank you everyone. This helped a lot.
