lnx+ln(2x+1)=0

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

hint: \[\ln a + \ln b = \ln (ab)\] does that help?

No could you get a little descriptive?

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

okay..here's an example \[\ln a + \ln(a+2) = 0\] now i use that property i wrote above \[\implies \ln (a(a+2)) = 0\] i simplify \[\implies \ln (a^2 + 2a) = 0\] change to exponential form \[\implies e^0 = a^2 + 2a\] simplify \[\implies 1 = a^2 + 2a\] put everthing on one side \[\implies a^2 + 2a + 1 = 0\] factor \[\implies (a+1)(a+1) = 0\] solve for a \[a = -1\] does that help?
