6.01SC is more advanced. A tyro should start with 6.00SC because 6.01SC requires that you are already somewhat familiar with Python (which 6.00SC teaches you) plus are already somewhat familiar with a bit of Physics and Calculus. Start with 6.00SC then, when you've finished it, move on to 6.01SC.
