use substitution to solve

OK still lost

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the first equation is just saying that the total hits by 2 person adds up to 374

OpenStudy (anonymous):

we can say x is washington and y is john

OpenStudy (anonymous):

since its just out of two players it is simple 374 divided by 2 = 187 washington = 188 jones = 186

OpenStudy (anonymous):

add 1 for washington and subtract 1 for jones

OpenStudy (anonymous):

since washington hits 2 more than john then x+2=y

wait a minute im wrong i just thought too simply derp :P
