just what it says: if you know what a partition is, then a tagged partition is a partition together with a distinguished point of every subinterval in other words, the partition is defined by contiguous subintervals defined by the points x0<x1<x2< .... < xn the tagged partition includes a sequence of numbers t0,t1,... t_(n-1) where each t_i is some number in the i_th subinterval.
